The Atlantic slave trade became the largest enforced movement of humanity ever recorded. It attracted all the maritime nations of both Europe and the Americas. Ships headed to Africa from 188 ports, almost half of them in America. While the slave trade it self violated human rights and many aspect on how it was conducted was extremely unethical, it was essential in the world history as it brought about economic progress of regions
