Explain why teaching is about making responsible decisions for learning.Give examples
Teachers make decisions for learners everyday. Teaching is a process of making and implementing decisions before, during and after instruction to increase the probability of learning.
A responsible decision making for learning helps a teacher to understand the realistic outcomes to which different paths of learning will lead. Teaching requires an open mind, that is , being open to students' views and ways of thinking rather than being stuck in one way of doing things. For example, a teacher would decide to use films and videotapes to teach learners to increase the probability of each students' successful accomplishment and to validate learning outcomes and students views.
Responsible decision making for learning allows a teacher to be open to new or alternative ways of teaching that may work out better in the end. For example, a teacher and learner may choose the order of learning on the basis of interest, availability of materials or convenience.
