Single Mother,Masego,of 35, staying in an informal setting near tzaneen(husband died).She was forced to work to provide for three kids.Raesibe and Leseta,older children use public transport to and from school which increases financial burden.Moagabo is in childcare facility with neighbourhood granny, Koko.Masego failed to make payment to Koko which put a strain on their relationship.Masego cant meet her childrens needs and affects her emotional state and behaviour towards her kids.(she reacts aggresively).In the intervention process:Masego said his death robbed her of her well lived life.She wonders why he didnt tel her hes leaving.She's misserable without him.She showed doubts about the social worker’s ability to help.Use proposition 8 of the person-centred approach to describe the importance of the “self” in this case. Discuss this proposition, highlighting what it stands for and its importance in trying to understand Masego’s conscious and unconscious experiences.
