which do you think is more important for a manager: speaking accurately or listening actively? why ?
I think that a manager needs to focus on listening more actively than speaking accurately. A good manager identifies the essential aspects of being a good listener. Managers have to listen to their employees’ opinions, concerns and ideas. Workers feel demotivated when they feel that their manager is less concerned (Jonsdottir & Fridriksdottir, 2020). In most productive environments, employees, including the most junior workforce, are encouraged to speak up more and create two-way communication with managers. Effective communication is not just about speaking accurately and giving the required information but is about listening to understand employees before a manager seeks to be understood.
