As a manager, how will you apply each of the theories of motivation to motivate your workers?
For Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs identifying the five types of needs and understanding how they build on each other to foster motivation is a critical factor in the implementation process. For Herzberg's Motivation Hygiene Theory identifying the motivating factors of today is important in identifying satisfier and maintenance motivators and how both factors influence productivity. For McCelland's Need Theory the manager will focus on the three needs achievement, power and affiliation. To implement any theory of motivation the manager needs to identify the elements of the theory as manifested in the organization and work to understand the best way of motivating stakeholders.
