3.1 A school’s environment and organization can be an important determinant of effectiveness in reaching curricular goals. Accepting that an effective school is not simply a collection of discrete attributes, but rather a well-managed, integrated system where each action or policy directly affects all other parts.
On the other hand, because most teaching and learning in school takes place in the classroom, successful learning is likely to be influenced by the classroom environment and instructional activities. Through the teacher and student questionnaires, the following are factors and practices that are influential to teaching and learning: teacher preparation and experience, challenges faced by the teachers, supportive classroom climate and instructional clarity and these factors and practices have an impact to the teacher both physical and financial.
3.2 Resources are very beneficial as supporting tools in teaching and learning by giving students the flexibility to access files and materials without the supervision of a teacher in a more informal way such as browsing the organization’s virtual learning environment whether at school or away.
Teaching materials or learning resources are intended mainly to support teaching and learning in different contexts. According to (Savery, 2015) the major purpose of learning and teaching resources is to provide a source of learning experience that is effective enough to invoke interaction among students and teachers in the learning or teaching process. Effective learning resources has the ability of helping the students in the learning process and broaden the learning experience of the students along with meeting the learning needs of the students.
3.3 Learning and teaching support materials are materials that are created with high quality to meet all the demands of learning and teaching of all learners in all schools. These materials can be classified into the following categories;
[a] Textbooks, teacher’s guide and workbooks for learners: Textbooks are the main source of information for teachers and learners. They define the sequence of concept to be presented.
[b] Stationery materials for learners: this includes items like notebooks, writing materials such as pens, pencils and crayons for painting.
[c] Supplementary resource materials: These are additional materials that are used in the facilitation of learning and teaching. These materials includes; dictionaries, charts, maps, laboratory equipment and newspapers.
