different between the phonic approach and the whole word approach
Whole word approach focusses on less rigid tactics for literacy. It focusses on the flow and the theme of the text, emphasizing meaning and relating to young learners. Students do not sound words as they do in phonics, they use creative writing to make stories. While most of the writing is completely incorrect it helps learners in the process of reading and writing. Students are encouraged to decode each word through the larger context of the story they wrote.
Phonics approach tend to help students with better word recognition , spelling and pronunciation. It helps students in pronunciation through sounding the words and letter recognition.
