What type of population does a density-dependent limiting factor affect?

Q3. The Trypsin-EDTA solution used in the experiment would contain 0.4% trypsin (w/v) and

0.03% EDTA (w/v). It is provided to you as a 10x stock solution.

(a) EDTA has a molecular weight of 292.24. What is the molarity of the EDTA in the 10X stock solution? (3 marks)

(b) What is the total final amount (in mg) of Trypsin which is added to the cells? (2 marks)

Q4. Following a 2-minute incubation, FBS solution is then added to the cells to deactivate the trypsin enzyme. The solution comprises 10% FBS, made up in 1x PBS. You decide to make up 50 ml of this solution using your 10 x PBS stock, and a 100% FBS stock.

(a) How much 10 x PBS will you need to use to make the 50 ml solution? (1 mark)

(b) How much 100% stock FBS would you need? (2 marks)

I also need the workings out for the answers to these questions. Thank you.

How can selective breeding and cloning be used to make superior humans?

a.     You are having a conversation with Cindy, the magic turtle. Cindy is very curious about the formation of species. She tells you excitedly how one species of turtle inhabited the same geographical area, but ended up forming two different species over time. She admits she is a bit surprised by this; she thought that populations needed to be geographically separated from each other in order to form two different species. Explain to Cindy how speciation can occur without geographical separation. Name the type of pathway to speciation that occurred in this case. (3 marks)

Speciation can occur without geographical separation through sympatric speciation. Sympatric speciation is best defined as, when two populations share the same geographic area. Ecological isolation can reduce gene flow, and mutations can lead to genetic isolation.

is this right?

1.     Speciation is the formation of a new species. Answer the following questions.

a.     What two factors are necessary to produce a new species? (2 marks)

-         Isolation

-         Genetic divergence

is this correct? will upload question b cant upload it with this post sorry

  •  Although the DNA in our genes is considered to be the heritable genetic material, other factors, including the environment are considered to play an important role in the activity and expression of those genes. Summarize the role that epigenetics & developmental epigenetics play in health & disease.
  •  Write a brief outline of the mechanisms in which DNA is used to generate protein. You do not need to provide a fine level of detail, but ensure you reflect on the key points in the process and mention any major differences between the mechanism in prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells
