Devices used to build the above network

A)    Modem –choose a full duplex modem ,this modem can transmit data in both directions simultaneously throughout the departmental sections.

B)     Router-Is a device that transmits data from one LAN to another if both networks support the same set of protocols. Here router must be applied in the server room.

C)     Switch –it checks the destination address and transmits the packet to the correct port.

D)    Wi-Fi card-this must be connected in the sales and marketing department to achieve wireless connection to any network Wi-Fi hotspot which is the physical area of the network that provides internet access through Wi-Fi.

The network component for the scenario above is LAN (Local Area Network) it spread over a single site like an office and building unit. It is within not the outside world.

An application layer is a software that fits the above scenario-it allows a user to access ,retrieve and manage files in a remote computer.
