Folktales are passed from generation to generation by word of mouth and with passion.with regard of this, what do you think are the reasons for perpetuating this kind of activity.
Folktales were passed down from generation to generation by word of mouth, which is called oral tradition as they were made up to explain the wonders of the world or to teach morals and lessons. Folktales were often employed to share a common history, to reinforce cultural values or highlight important traditions. When people belonged to a tribe or lived in a small village, by necessity they needed to be able to get along well under a variety of circumstances and minimize conflict.
Folktales can be used to help children develop strong reading skills, study other cultures, model positive character traits, and discover a love of stories. They were also passed from generation to generation to pass on history and knowledge, such as the outcome of battles and tales of courage, in ages when many people could not read or write.
It was also a way of providing moral guidance and to show people how they should conduct themselves. The stories also warn of the consequences of not making the right choices.
