Internal conflict

Jack is unable to kill a piglet caught in creepers because of fears of the large amount of blood involved in murdering an animal.

External conflict

The struggle between Jack and Ralph. The clash between a peaceful democracy as symbolised by Ralph and violent democracy as symbolised by jack
