a) Every day is an opportunity for me to do better. It hasn't been easy at all. I remember the first time I had to give a speech; I was so scared and I would stand before the mirror and say to myself, ''you can do this,'' Theophilus, the day before the first presentation. I called my best friend, sister, and colleague to rehearse before them, but I still messed up.

b) I used opening and closing speech marks to indicate that he was talking to himself. I had to insert various commas to make the flow of the sentences very clear. I used full stops to indicate where the sentence ends and the other begins.
