The integrative approach is proposed to give a true language environment to learners to develop listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in a meaningful context. One of the elements of language is to accomplish social purposes. How to Integrate the four skills. The four skills can be referred to as Receptive Skills or Productive Skills. Perhaps the easiest way to start integrating skills in your class is by combining the receptive and productive skills which are used across the same medium.

Another way to describe language is in terms of the four basic language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. In your teaching, you will need to address each of these skills. And, whenever possible, you should utilize activities that integrate all four skills since each reinforces the other. The five skills of language are a set of four capabilities that allow an individual to comprehend and produce spoken language for proper and effective interpersonal communication. These skills are Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing.
