The teacher can ensure diversity through assessment by:

·        Focusing on diverse students as learners. The teacher should provide all learners with resources and guidance, provide specific feedback and support students in need of support to develop academic language, provide linkage of learning material and the purpose of adequate preparation for examination.

·        Respecting and adjusting for diversity. This can be achieved by providing a range of assessment tasks so that learners can demonstrate their learning in different ways and by providing pre-exam practice and feedback.

·        Being adaptable, flexible and responsive to evidence. Part of ensuring flexibility and variety to diverse learners is offering different assessment formats.

·        Providing context-specific information. This can be achieved by teaching students to accommodate all the other students and by ensuring clear understanding of ideas, concepts and assessment requirements to achieve higher level performance by diverse students.

·        Preparing students for life in a globalized world. Assessment tasks should teach learners on reflection, encourage lifelong learning, let the learner demonstrate that they can deal with multiple perspectives and should promote learning beyond the skill itself.
