Teachers play a critical role in shaping the future success or failure of students in a classroom setting. As such they ensure that they realize gender-fair teaching with the aim of benefiting all students equally through;
a). The use of gender-neutral language where and when appropriate to expand students perceptions beyond the societal established gender stereotypes. This also ensures that the teacher challenges learners anticipations for associating different professions with a particular gender like male nurse, female construction contractor among other.
b). Being objective as well as reflective in students interactions and teaching methods.
c). Encouraging feedback through suggestion box on any difference students might notice on how either gender is treated during teaching.
