Teachers can introduce gender fair teaching practices in the classroom in various ways including:
- Using gender-neutral language when appropriate so as to help expand learners' perspectives beyond gender stereotypes.
- Seating and grouping students intentionally in a dynamic seating chart to break up boys only or girls only cliques.
- Using project-based learning where a mix of boys and girls work together within small group projects; lessons on gender equity become indirect and implicit.
- Explaining the context of gender fairness to students including the struggle for and history of gender equity as well as social implications of gender-biased statements.
- Being reflective and objective by offering gender-neutral responses to students.
