Why are western perspective or theories dominant in south Africa's early childhood education?
The ECD in South Africa is dominated by the western perspective since the formal education in South Africa borrows so much ideas from the formal education in Europe. For instance, Serpell applies the inverted commas integrated with a capital 'S' for the aspect of it being a proper noun. It is through this way Serpell posits that the theories carries an empirical proponent and can only be examined by applying scientific approaches.
