In many instances, projects are carried out at different levels which include teams and also at individual levels. Projects aim to accomplish specific tasks and they are timed. For a team, members are assigned roles and there are some specific characteristics that members should have in order for the projects to be successful. Some of the desired characteristics of a successful project team include;
- Clear definition of roles- this ensures that responsibility is natured among the team members.
- Effective decision-making skills- decisions are the foundation of success in most projects thus teams should embrace effective decision making techniques to ensure success. Before decisions are made, contributions from all members should be considered.
- Conflict management- this refers to the effective control of conflicts to generate positive outcomes since conflicts have a potential of building or destroying teams depending on how they are handled.
- Equality- each member should be treated equally in the team and this will improve team-building.
- Valued diversity- this refers to inclusion of people from different backgrounds in the team. It is essential since people from different backgrounds have different experiences that might influence the performance of the project in positive ways.
