As the Deputy Minister for Education, discuss four (4) programmes that you will put in place to ensure that the gender gap in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) is bridged.
i. The first thing that I will do is reducing the cutting pints for joining universities and institutions of higher learning for girls. It is because boys often outperform girls in national examination.
ii. Educating the girls in secondary schools on the need for them taking up STEM courses for their future careers.
iii. Providing mentorship programs that aim at encouraging girls to take up STEM courses.
iv. Providing scholarship programs that aim at assisting girls who take STEM courses.
