Identify three principles of symbolic interactionism and discuss how you as a teacher would apply these principles in the classroom
The three fundamental principles of symbolic Interpretation include meaning, language and thought. Meanings posit that persons act in a particular way towards others depending on the meaning they have afforded to them. As a teacher, I would make certain that learners have a positive view of themselves, as this will affect the learning process. Language is another fundamental principle that helps in the conceptualization of inferences and meanings. As a teacher, I would explore implementing communication patterns that will benefit learners. Thought corresponds to the cognitive process of linking identities, meanings, and signifiers. As a teacher, I would use this concept to determine which class a certain object belongs to. The learner will be able to classify the provided object since he or she has been educated about the characteristics of things in that class.
