As the public relations practitioner who has been newly appointed at the (SADC), the appropriate means of communication that I would use in orienting myself in the organization and introducing myself to my colleagues is informal communication. Informal communication would be good since it is inviting and friendly and will help me understand my colleagues and how the organization works within a short period. Also, through informal communication, a sense of belonging will be created between me, the organization, and colleagues. As a result, it will help bridge the hierarchy gap and allow the information required to flow freely. Moreover, the inflexible, stressful, tense, and awkward situations that are usually associated with formal communication will be avoided through the use of informal communication. On the other hand, it will create an enjoyable working atmosphere.
