• Use captions; captions, such as those seen on internet video and even television, are essential for accessing multimedia material.
• Use existing technology, such as interactive whiteboards and sound field amplification devices, if they are available.
• Visual stimuli such as course outlines and major themes are used.
• Consider the classroom arrangement; I will place students with hearing impairments where I can see them and where the sound can be easily heard.
• Keep background noise to a bare minimum.

• Encourage students to use glasses or other visual aids.
• Ascertain that they are seated at the front or in the proper section of the classroom.
• Make sure the lighting is enough.
• Make every attempt to prevent glare from the workstation and the whiteboard.
