The glial cells are not similar to the neuron cells since they are mainly situated in the central nervous system. They undertake functions such as insinuating the neurons through the production of the myelin sheath. Also, they nourish the neurons. Moreover, they support and protect the neurons a well as regulate the concentration of the electrolytes. However, the glial cells do not produce action potentials.
