Convex lens is basically one type of lens in which the two end sides(along the vertical sense) of it are thin and center(middle) is thick such that when beams of light which are parallel to the principle axis falls into it, converges into a single point (which is called focus),thus it also called converging lens.

Convex lens has properties like the image formed by it is real,hence image can be projected on the screen.
