Answer to Question #195367 in Molecular Physics | Thermodynamics for Rose

Question #195367

Situation: You are asked by your mother to cook pork nilaga. You have only an ordinary kettle to use for cooking. She even reminds you to save energy because we are in a state of pandemic due to covid-19. Saving resources nowadays is a must because we are not sure of the world’s economy. As a student of Physical Science and with your knowledge of properties of matter in relation to intermolecular forces, how are you going to perform your task in such a way that energy is not wasted?

In this pandemic situation, we need to save energy in preparing the food. So as a physical science student, I will put pork in the pot and cover it with plate such that the steam will not be able to come outside from the pot and I will cover the whole pot with the insulting material such as sand and mud so that heat could not transferred in the environment. and then I will burn below the pot as the water starts to boil then due to the increase in the steam pressure then inter-molecular force inside the pot will increase and food will cooked early as compared to normal and in this process the loss of energy will be less.
