15. When a wave hits a material interface , it can be absorbed , reflected or transmitted by the second material . describe what happens in each of these cases ?
1.When wave is absorbed by material,then total energy of wave is transferred to the particles of material.It will increase the internal energy of material.
2.When wave is reflected or transmitted,there is change in the wavelength of light.In both case frequency of wave remain constant due to conservation of energy.
