Internal combustion engine within a car tends to convert potential chemical energy in oxygen and gasoline into thermal energy that is further transformed into mechanical energy which accelerates the car from rest to 80 kinetic, ie increase in kinetic energy through causing pressure as well as work performance on pistons.
