Wireless application protocol or WAP architecture is very similar to the architecture of World Wide Web or WWW. The architecture of WAP is based on wireless session layer, wireless transaction protocol, wireless transport layer security, wireless datagram protocol. The bearers can be based on SMS, USSD, CSD, CDMA, PDC-P and so on.

To reduce size of wireless transmitted data, texts from servers are transferred to a client in binary form.
