How pre-socratic philosophers (like Thales of Miletus, Heraclitus, Parmenides) tried to understand origin of the world beginning?
Pre-socratic philosophers reiterated the rational unity of objects and repudiated supernatural explanations. They sought natural principles at work in the universe and social structure. The world was seen as a cosmos by the pre-Socratics, an orderly structure that could be grasped by rational inquiry.
