b.) We obtain the general multiplication rule by multiplying both sides of the definition of conditional probability by the denominator. That is, in the equation P(A|B)=P(A∩B)P(B) P ( A | B ) = P ( A ∩ B ) P ( B ) , if we multiply both sides by P(B) , we obtain the Multiplication Rule.

c.) The multiplication rule is a way to find the probability of two events happening at the same time (this is also one of the AP Statistics formulas). There are two multiplication rules. The general multiplication rule formula is: P(A ∩ B).
