The article about the Twitter hacking ends by noting the possibility of Twitter employees or hackers being able to read private DMs (Direct Messages) of Twitter users. In Chapter 11, we learned about the concept of information systems controls. If management fails to create sufficient controls it could lead to criminal prosecution and/or contingent liability in some circumstances. Do you think this situation at Twitter could make its executives subject to criminal prosecution, contingent liability, or both? Explain your reasoning. Your answer should be about 2-3 sentences.
Twitter's leadership could face criminal charges, potential responsibility, or both as a result of their actions. Whether you like it or not, technology has transformed the way we interact with others. That's politicial in a hyper-capitalist society with wide income disparities.
