A job applicant complained that he was not made aware of the outcome of his job interview and his many phone calls and emails to the HR department was left unanswered. Discuss how you would ensure that processes for advising applicants of selection outcome are followed?Â
The organization needs to ensure the recruiters provide selection feedback to both successful and unsuccessful applicants. The process can be done by providing brief advice to the applicants that they were not successful and they will receive written confirmation in the due course. However, it is a good idea to encourage the unsuccessful candidate to take up the selection choice of the organization. The Human Resources Management should avoid explaining to the unsuccessful applicant the details of how they could not succeed in the selection, but rather this should be done in a structured way as part of the post-selection feedback. Therefore to safeguard the reputation of the company, the management should ensure that every unsuccessful applicant is treated with dignity and professionalism
