This statement is indirectly referring to the fact that encouraging staff members to increase their output is a manager's most important task. I disagree with this statement, there are a lot more responsibilities for a manager that are basic, these include;

  • conduct performance evaluations and troubleshooting performance issues.
  • motivating staff to put their best efforts into their work.
  • responsible for hiring and training employees.
  • monitor expenses and budgets in relation to the projects they are overseeing.
  •  oversee day-to-day operations.
