You have been hired by the campus bookstore to determine how students make purchase decisions while shopping. As a consultant to the campus what steps of the research process you would suggest to conduct a research project.
The five steps of the research process
First, define the problem or opportunity. Before you conduct any research project, you should identify the problem or opportunity. In this case, the problem is how the student make the purchase decision while shopping.
Second, develop your Shopping Research plan. There are two types of market research they include: primary and secondary.
Third, collect relevant Data and Information. The relevant data and information are critical and relevant to any research. The data may include the type of the book, method of purchasing, and any other services provided for purchase. Can a book be accepted back after purchase? What are the guidelines when making the decision?
Fourth, analyze Data and Report findings, give out the report and analyze the data. Try to assume the outcome.
Finally, put your Research into Action. Try to implement your actions and see the possible outcomes. Determine the advantages and disadvantages, short time effects, and longtime to the bookstore. If there are points to rectify, you can fix them.
