Tension between the supepowes was the first cause of cold war between United States and the Soviet union. After the end of world war two that culminated in the defeat of the Nazi of German, tye united States and the Soviet union which were in one alliance started crumbling for superiority since the Nazi Germany that were tye major threat had been defeated.

Secondly, the atomic weapons race was another cause of the cold war since the soviet union started making their own atomic weapons to match the United States which already had theirs. Both superpowers made arsenL of atomic weapons to the point that they could completely destroy one another.

The ideological conflict of communist vs individualism also lead to the rise of cold war . Here, tye Soviet union that believe in the concept of communism sought to expand their ideaology to other parts of the world but were prevented by the united States that belives in the individualism concept through containment method.
