The historical development of Philippine Popular culture
Philippine Popular culture includes art, literature, cultural products, fashion, cyberculture, film, music, and print media. As for popular music, it was mainly influenced by the Americans. The Mother Freedom protest group had its first cassette album recorded in a portable studio. Later on, CDs and albums of the group were recorded professionally then commercially sold. In 1905, the first popular magazine by the Philistines was published. The first film involved short features referred to as cinematography. The first comic strip was introduced in 1929. As for art, changes were there in the 1980s in that independent cinema was introduced in the film industry. Moreover, in the 1980s, fashion became bold and big; shoulder pads, MC parachute pants as well as teased hairstyles were introduced.
