According to my culture of Batmmaliba from Togo, we believe that eclipse suggests the moon and soon are in a fight. In my culture, an eclipse means punishment from gods, that is if the moon won the fight against the sun then the world will be in total darkness signifying the end of the world. The indigenous knowledge about the eclipses in my culture was that lack of peace in the society which spread to the sun and moon. Thus make them begun fighting with each other and cause an eclipse. However, during an eclipse, the kuijcoke pleaded with locals to demonstrate peace and unity so that the sun settle fight with the moon.

In our culture today there are no existing practices associated with the eclipse.
