The portrait of Toussaint Louverture has seeral visual clues that relates to the ambitions of Africans. The portrait shows the leader in a crown, a clear indication that back people will also rise a nd lead despite the captivity that they encounter just like Toussaint. Tpussaint rose up to the rose up to the rank of a general at the French army despite the fact that he was born ensalved, hence giving blacks hope that their ambitions of freedom and leadership in theworld will one time become real.
