various documents have been used to understand different voyages around the world that led to discover certain islands. particularly, authors like Pigafetta who has helped in learning about the world, for example, Magellan's assumptions that the earth is round. further, these documents bring insight into key elements that triggered exploration in the 16th century that have shaped the culture of the people. from my perspective, the importance of these documents is to inform, persuade and entertain people through telling of how cultures emerged.
