According to Bronfenbrenner's ecological systems theory, personal development is influenced by environmental variables (Roundy, 2013). The Macrosystem is a theoretical component of environmental systems. The child's macrosystem is their cultural surroundings. Personal empowerment is the ability to have a say in the events that occur in your life as well as the people you associate with on a personal level. Personal empowerment occurs when a person is aware of their goals and where they are headed in life, as well as when they are willing to change. The life orientation school curriculum is an example of personal empowerment.
