As I read through the book it seemed interesting to me, also as I was reading the book I did something I had never done with any other book, I was relating myself to the story. I had some similar events as the guy in “Soledad Brother.” Even though we are two different races I related to someone not even the same Identity, roots, ethnicity, background as myself. I knew i could relate to anyone, but not in the way i relate to George. I have never read a book and for me to read this book and to have a deep connection to the guy in the book. In the way “Soledad Brother” has impacted me in an excellent way. For example, One thing that I can relate to on this book was when he said "being born a slave." I can relate to this quote. I also said I am a Mexican guy leaving in the U.S. what can i do in a world full of rich people, white people? I tried to follow people's steps and be like anyone else but that path just wasn't made for me. I could not do what other people tried to believe was the correct thing. I am not like anyone else I have to follow my own dream and not try to make other people's dreams true. I care about me and that it when it comes to being successful in life.
