What are the effect of disinformation and fake news
Fake news are the news that do not have any truthful or factual evidence to support its foundation and the news is merely insubstantial or baseless. Generally, some people intentionally spread false rumors or news about a person, place, things, brand or country such that it becomes the topic of discussion and starts getting attention, coverage and traffic by the online audience. Fake news, generally, is false in nature and cannot be proved or substantiated through qualitative or quantitative information. The misinformation caused by fake news affects communities negatively as it causes a general distrust in the media and it impacts people’s views on things deemed as important such as vaccinations etc which affects the overall health of the community at large.
