When relative pronouns are not the subject of the clause, a person can use informal speech instead. Example: This is the airport that I told you about last time. We can omit that because it does not change the meaning of the sentence.

Question b)

Defining clause adds detailed information concerning a particular noun

Examples: My father, who retired this year, is spending the holiday traveling

“Who” is a defining clause because it is related to a specific noun.

The non-defining clause also adds extra detail, but in this case, it adds non-essential detail to a sentence differently.

Example: The public plane, which was rumored to be the most luxurious in the country, belonged to the UAE.

The clause adds details about the subject matter, but the essence can still be understood well without it.
