Tone is a literary device that expresses a writer's attitude toward a literary work's subject matter or audience. The writer establishes a specific relationship with the reader by transmitting this attitude through tone, which determines the aim and meaning of the written words. Despite the fact that the writer's tone may represent their personal attitude or perspective, this literary method can also be used to portray the attitudes and sentiments of a certain character or narrator. As a result, it's critical for readers to pay great attention to the writer's literary choices in order to avoid unfairly assigning a tone to them and to interpret tone wisely.
