Feminism largely arose in response to Western traditions that restricted the rights of women, but feminist thought has global manifestations and variations. Feminism is a whole philosophy aiming at essentially changing the life of contemporary women, on the grounds that women and men have equal right in all the areas of social life. That is why feminism is an ideology of “women's liberation”, as women are profoundly discontent with their social status.
