Respect for diversity in a community can be promoted by providing opportunities for children to listen to people from a range of backgrounds and their perspectives. Additionally, it can be achieved through respect for individual differences and acknowledging that membership in a particular group doesn’t mean everyone from that group has the same values, beliefs, rituals and needs. Respect for diversity and inclusion also manifests itself through the promotion and modelling of inclusive behaviours.
