American Sniper is an action movie based on one of the greatest snipers in American history. It was directed and partially produced by Clint Eastwood. The movie was released on December 25, 2014. Jason Hall wrote American Sniper. The main character and protagonist in the movie Chris Kyle is played by Bradley Cooper. Chris Kyle lived in Texas and had a dream of becoming a cowboy, but after seeing the terrorist attack of September 11, 2001 he changed his mind to become a sniper in the Navy SEALs. This movie goes through what he experienced and did as a Navy SEAL as he traveled to Iraq for war.

The plot was intended to show the real life story of how Chris’s journey to become a Navy SEAL, and one of the best snipers in history. The movie starts off with Kyle’s relationship with his dad and their hunting adventure. Next, it shows Kyle pursuing his dream to be a cowboy and living the cowboy lifestyle of a small country house and going out drinking. The movie continues on all the way through his training and events of being a sniper. The plot was aimed to inform us on what America’s greatest soldier had to overcome to get the respect they deserve. Kyle was not known to many until the movie was released and gave everyone a more appreciative outlook on the lives and freedom we have today.
