  • What do I believe about teaching children?
  • What kind of behavior do I expect from students?
  • What do I expect of my students’ parents?

Teaching helps the learning process for others which may take place without direct and intentional teaching. It makes learning better and faster but teachers can’t learn for others (though as we all know teachers learn much from teaching).

Teaching aids the learning of all involved. Teachers help others to learn. Teaching is a human activity of one person connecting with another about the subject matter at hand. The purpose of teaching would be to impart knowledge and help somebody learn. The focus is on learning, we need to facilitate and promote learning in the students we teach. I don’t just want to provide knowledge and expect them to learn anything,

·        Learning should be joyful.

·        Project-based learning and inquiry leads to deeper and longer-lasting learning, and higher interest from kids.

·        I believe that kids should be empowered with as much choice and voice in their classroom experience as possible.

·        I believe in culturally relevant, culturally responsive teaching.

·        I believe that teaching should be transgressive. I believe that you can’t do any of this alone.
