As educators, we often feel called to improve the lives of the students with whom we work. How does this impact your teaching philosophy and practice? How do you identify and address students' diverse backgrounds in your teaching practice?
By learning philosophy, a teacher would be able to view and analyze from the perspective of their students. Apart from understanding why students are behaving in particular way, teachers would be able to know how students perceive their actions. The education in philosophy is that I believe al students are capable of learning. They al do not learn at the same rate, but with different methods and strategies it is possible. Students must be able to function in the real world which not only requires academic knowledge but social skills as well.
The discipline in philosophy contributes in an indispensable way to the realization of the four goals that should be fundamental in any institution of higher learning; instilling habits of critical thinking in students; enhancing their reading, writing and public speaking skills transmitting cultural heritages to them.
