Purposes of assessment
Assessment informs students concerning their progress. When the assessment is done effectively students get a sense to be aware of what they are competent in and what they don't know. With this, they know their strengths and weaknesses too.
Assessment drives learning. Assessment should help students understand what they are expected to do, study, and also areas on which they have to spend time. Therefore assessment should be chosen carefully to direct students.
1.2.2
Summative assessment which takes place at the end of the course helps the teacher understand whether the learners captured everything which was taught.
Assessment improves learning and teaching without assessment a teacher can't tell whether the learners have understood the concepts well.
The assessment provides feedback and support. Continuous assessment tests assist in providing constant feedback
Accounting to parents. Teachers found it easy to explain to parents about the performance of their children using assessment results.
1.2.3
A document that reflects research, knowledge, goals in school, and also how students learn.
Assessment instruments and criteria of scoring together with reports which explain the students' performance.
